There is a growing trend in companies building communities for their customers and users to provide support, events, education, and customer-to-customer engagement. Fitbit, Harley Davidson, Microsoft, Slack, HackerOne, GitLab, and many have not just built communities, but empowered their members to create value such as creating content, running events, building technology and integrations, and more.
Doing this well is tricky though. How do you know where to start, what goals you should start with, and how to track your success?
