There is a growing trend in companies building communities for their customers and users to provide support, events, education, and customer-to-customer engagement. Fitbit, Harley Davidson, Microsoft, Slack, HackerOne, GitLab, and many have not just built communities, but empowered their members to create value such as creating content, running events, building technology and integrations, and more.

Doing this well is tricky though. How do you know where to start, what goals you should start with, and how to track your success?

Jono Bacon, a globally recognized author and consultant in building communities, and author of 'People Powered', shares how to build communities efficiently.

In this session, Jono will share how to cohesively manage your community projects through careful strategic planning, and share practical recommendations that you can put into practice right away to execute and build growth. This session will leave you with four key takeaways:

  • Understanding a framework for how to deploy a community strategy, investing in the right areas, tracking progress, and building in accountability.
  • How to identify relevant KPIs, building in a regular cadence for reviews and skills development.
  • How to build cross-functional support from management, other teams, and how to hire the right people to deliver this work well.
  • How to avoid the common pitfalls and road bumps many companies face in this journey.

The session will also include plenty of opportunities for discussion and Q&A.

The first 50 HAE members to register will receive a free book of 'People Powered
