Mental resilience is the ability to stay when things are tough; the ability to maintain grace, gravitas, and strong decision-making skills in a storm. Resilience is a muscle built by the practice of meditation–the practice of stopping & staying when the mind wants to run.
This proprietary workshop is a training program for elite teams & organizations, and is being made available to HAE members by HAE-NYC Co-Chair Kirstin Broderick, the founder of NorthScale, a performance coaching, meditation, & mental resilience training firm.
If you think you can't meditate, want to graduate from an app, have tried before but gave up, or want to take a practice to the next level, this class can help. This workshop is built for both absolute beginners and existing practitioners (as Buddhism notes: we're always beginners).
About Kirstin Broderick
The workshop is led by Kirstin Broderick, Founder & CEO of NorthScale. She began serious Zen training in rural Japan in 1998. In 2004 she became a formal student of Roshi Janet Jiryu Abels of Still Mind Zendo in NYC. Kirstin received Jukai – or Zen Ordination – in 2012, and was given the dharma name Daikatsu, translated as Great Liveliness or Big Life. In 2016, Kirstin was named a senior student at Still Mind Zendo.
Kirstin has a Masters in Strategic Management & Economic Development (HKS ‘08) and is a therapist (LMSW, Fordham). She’s also the Co-Chair of the NYC Chapter of HAE. She’s worked with organizations like The World Bank, Tiger21, fast-growing tech firms, hedge funds, VC firms, and even a vegan food truck.
